I have heavy legs
symptoms: what do I feel?
Heaviness in the legs is a nonspecific sensation that can occur with varicose veins. This sensation is also called weightiness or leg fatigue. Sometimes, heaviness can be associated with a tingling sensation in the legs (paresthesia).
When does it occurs?
The feeling of heaviness in the legs tends to get worse at the end of the day, during the summer when the temperatures are high, or after standing still for several hours in a row or sitting for an extended time, for example when travelling. In the case of long haul flights, the symptoms are worsened by the limited mobility and the level of cabin pressure. Heaviness in the legs is also described among professionals that have to stand on their feet for long hours or have to constantly walk back and forth.
