I have varicose veins
symptoms: what do I feel?
This lumpy vein on my leg, could it be a varicose vein?
What do I see?
Description
A varicose vein is a vein that is permanently enlarged and bulging. This condition generally appears in the lower limbs. Normally, the deoxygenated venous blood is returned from the feet up to the heart via the veins, but varicose veins are no longer capable of carrying out this function. Therefore, blood flow is reversed to the feet.
Causes
The venous wall gets stretched out by the pressure of blood, leading the delicate one-way valves attached to the vessel wall to dysfunction, increasing the amount of blood in the ankles and the feet accordingly.
